Hover over the menu icon in the top left corner and go to the **Business Vaults **Menu.

In the business vault you can adjust the business views, create PIT tables, create Bridges and create your own business objects with custom loading logic with the VaultSpeed Studio.

A business vault release is always related to a certain data vault release.  So to create a business vault release, first select the data vault where it will be related to.

Then you need to select the data vault release where your business vault release will be build upon.

Notice that VaultSpeed automatically creates a first initial business vault release for every raw data vault release that you create.  This release contains the changes of the last locked business vault release of the previous data vault release.  And it is already locked, indicated by the closed padlock symbol at the end.

> ℹ️ If some Business Vault objects become invalid because of braking changes in the Raw Data Vault, this first initial release won’t be locked automatically and you will need to modify the invalidated objects first before you can lock the BV and generate the code for it.

In order to change the business vault (change business views, add or change PIT and/or Bridge Tables), a new business vault release has to be created.  Click on the ‘+ Release’ button in the upper right corner to do so.  Give the release a name and add a comment and click the ‘Create’ button.

> 📝 Special characters are not supported in the Release Comments!

This is, again a task that is run in the background (that you could check on the task monitor).  When the task is completed, click the refresh button on the releases screen and your new business vault release should show up.  Notice that it now has the little lock icon on open to indicate that this release is unlocked and ready for editing:
